The ebike comes in a gray step over version or a red step thru version. It comes with a rear seat installed and optional backrest. A rear/front basket is also available.

Power comes from a 1000W motor that peaks at 1800w and is boosted by the large 48 volt 40.5 amp hour battery that will get up to 120 miles with pedaling. A 4.5 amp fast charger is included so it will take about 9-10 hours to charge from dead.

The folding ebike features a basic front suspension fork and seatpost combination. 20×4 CST fat tires, 180mm brake rotors and mechanical disk brakes with Xtech hydraulic calipers round out the feature set.

The Ultra weighs about 86 pounds (64lbs without the battery) and is 69 inches long. When folded, you can cut that number in half. Payload capacity is 300lbs.

What I Like

The large battery is the ebikes best feature along with a color display, mag wheels and the foldability for those of you without a bike rack. It will fit easily in the back of your SUV. Top speed is also great (32MPH) and you can achieve that on throttle or pedal. My GPS clocked it at 30MPH in testing.

What I Don’t

The mechanical disk brakes are disappointing. The industry is moving to hydraulics so I think Rattan needs to change that. The gearing is too low and creates ghost pedaling after you get past PAS 3. I also got a few pedal strikes while riding so the clearance is an issue rounding corners.
