Juiced Ebikes Out of Power?

Update 10/14/24: the company’s assets are up for auction.

Chatter on the Juiced Bikes Facebook group does not portend well for the company. The company may owe hundreds of thousands of dollars and its website shows every ebike as “Out of Stock”.

One member of the group posted an legal doc about an $800k judgement against them;

“Looks like a judgement was made in June and Juiced didn’t comply. On 9/20/24 looks like judge forced juice to pay over 800k.”

A check of their Instagram account shows no activity since May 2024 which was 5 months ago.

I did read some members saying they have been getting messages from the support chat so maybe they are just buying time while they try to work out whatever financial issues they have. But another group member wrote this;

Juiced closed their doors for good 5 days ago. I had a friend who left Juiced several months ago and who’s son was just let go 5 days ago when they closed their doors here in Chula Vista. Juiced has tremendous amount of debt and too many bike orders knowing they didn’t have the inventory to complete them. If anyone out there has paid for outstanding orders, if paid by credit you must file a complaint immediately !This is so sad. I have owned 6 different models in the last 5 years. Have loved them all.

If this is all true I am pretty bummed out. I think Juiced made some really nice ebikes like the Rip Current, Rip Racer and the newest Jet Current Pro which sadly may never be sold. I was really looking forward to that ebike because it promised to be the fastest 20×4 folder on the market.

My messages to the company for confirmation have gone unanswered at this point. A check of their Linkedin company page reveals many of their employees have #OpentoWork indicators on their profiles including the customer support manager. So at the very least, they had significant layoffs for an already small company.
