Lectric e-Bikes based in Phoenix, in conjunction with the CPSC, is recalling about 45,000 XP 3.0s over the mechanical brakes. The recall is specifically on the mechanical disk brake calipers. This only affects XPs sold between November 2022 through May 2023.
The firm has received four reports of loss of braking power including two injuries that involved cuts, scrapes and a broken bone.
Lectric recently began upgrading customers of their flagship ebike the XP 3.0 with new hydraulic brake kits so they could replace the mechanical ones. Affected customers can request a replacement from the company and replace it themselves or pay a bike shop to do it.
The CPSC says consumers should immediately stop using Lectric e-bikes with the recalled disc brake calipers and contact the firm for a free mechanical caliper repair kit. Consumers will receive up to $100 towards the cost to install front and rear mechanical brake calipers. Lectric Ebikes is also contacting all purchasers directly.

This is the first recall notice ever from Lectric as far as I know.
