Heybike sent me their Ranger S, a speedy affordable folding ebike. It comes in two options with two price points;
- 750 Watt, 14.4AH Batterry for $1,099
- 1000 Watt, 14.4AH Battery for $1,299
My test ebike was the 750W and at $1099 it offers really greta value at that price point. The Ranger S comes in 4 colors: Tan, Blue, Red and Gray. Styling wise it is a folding step thru ebike that offers good looks thanks to its color combos and mag wheels.
Buy for $1099

Ranger S Sizing
The ebike weighs in at 72 pounds, is 70 inches long with a minimum seat height of 31.5 so it is good for most riders. The step thru design makes it easy to mount/dismount. When folded, the ebike dimensions are 40x20x31 inches.
Tires & Brakes
20×4 Chaoyang fat tires site on mag wheels for easy cleaning and offer a great look to passerbys. RSX hydraulic disk brakes are grippy and responsive. 180 mm brake rotors round out the stopping component.
Likes & Dislikes
I think the 1000 watt version is a bit overkill so the standard 750 Watt motor would suit most riders just fine and you’ll get a tad more range too on the 750 vs the 1000. Claimed range is 55 miles by the way.
The Ranger S offers both front and rear turn signals and a brake light that pulses for extra visibility. My 750 W came with a cadence sensor but if you opt for the 1000Watt you will get a torque sensor version.
