Lectric’s New $999 XPress is the Ebike for Traditional Riders

Up til now Lectric Ebikes based in Phoenix has been making a lot of 20 inch fat tire folding ebikes but they are now branching out into more traditional styles with the launch of the new XPress. This is significant because there are a lot of people who want an ebike but want something that doesn’t look like an ebike.

Enter the new XPress.

Lectric Xpress ebike review

With its 27.5 inch x 2.1 inch tires and diamond style frame, it looks pretty much like every ten speed ebike on the road. And thats the appeal. Many ebike riders want a more traditionl bike frame with ebike capability.

At the starting price of just $999 the new XPress should certainly become a best seller. It features a solid 500 watt rear hub motor (peak 1092) with 55nm of torque paired with a UL listed 48 Volt 10.4 ah battery hidden in the down tube. The entire e-bike is UL 2849 certified.

A 750 watt version with a larger 14ah battery is also available for just $1299.

It comes in black for the step over version (29 inch standover height) and white for the step thru.

The tires have street treads and the front sits on a thru axle that simply screws in. Front suspension is provided by Lectric’s new TCEighty with 80mm of travel. Brake rotors are 180mm and stopped by hydraulic brakes.

At a weight of only 57 lbs the XPress will help you get up to 45 miles of range on the lowest pedal assist. The XPress is also powered by a torque sensor making it the lowest cost ebike with that feature on the market as far as I know.
