A lawmaker in New Hampshire’s state assembly (Transportation committee) is proposing to ban nearly all ebikes on existing rail trails and bike paths in the state. I was alerted via a post in the Ebike New England Facebook group.
Specifically the new law (House Bill 1445) would ban all ebikes on existing trails unless the top speed is 15mph max. Unfortunately nearly every ebike in the US comes with a 20mph maximum. In addition, it calls for having to register your ebike with the DMV!
As someone who goes to New Hampshire each year this would effectively ban all of the ebikes I own. It is shortsighted and a major overreach when it comes to regulation. Watch my video to learn more.
