The folks at Velotric have launched a new lightweight step thru ebike that offers a lot of features in a very lightweight package. Meet the Breeze 1 which comes in a variety of colors. I received the white Regular frame for review.

I would classify the Breeze as a “lightweight cruiser” style ebike perfect for those beach front neighborhoods. AT just 48 pounds its super easy to handle and pick up for most riders. It slots in below the Velotric Discover 2, a heavier version of the Breeze 1. But the Breeze has all the familiar tech you are used to from Velotric.
Apple Find My leads the way along with their popular 750 watt motor, color display and mobile app.
Sizing
The Breeze 1 comes in two sizes Regular (rider heights 4″11 to 5″8) or Large (rider heights 5″6 to 6″4) . Overall payload capacity is a solid 330 lbs.
Technology
The Breeze 1 is UL certified to 2849 and ISO rated to 4210 standards. The battery itself has a waterproff rating of IPX7. Velotric has the most water resistant batteries in the industry at this point.
Gearing
46 Tooth chainring up front, Shimano Altus, 8 speed trigger shifter. The ebike can be ridden in torque or cadence sensor mode by switching in the mobile app.
Power Specs
750 watt rear hub motor featuring 60nm of torque. The bike comes as a class two but can be unlocked to 28MPH within the app. The battery is a 48V 13.4AH power cll with a 3 amp charger included.
Tires/Brakes
The Breeze 1 is rocking 27.5×2.2 inch Kenda street tires with puncture resistance. Tektro hydraulic brakes with 180 mm rotors round out the stopping power.
My Take
There are cheaper options in this class but Velotric’s ebikes are def a notch above most in terms of quality. You have to pay a few hundred bucks more but their models are still good values under $2k.
