Velotric Fold is the Brands First Folding Ebike

Velotric is on a roll with their new line of ebikes. I’ll be reviewing all of them starting with the Velotric Fold 1, their entry into the folding ebike market. The price comes in at an affordable $1199.

The Velotric Fold is an instant winner in my book. It feels like a more expensive ebike than its price tag suggests. It can be unlocked for class 3 speeds and I even hit 30mph while pedaling on a flat stretch. That power comes from a 750 watt motor paired with a 48V, 604 watt hour (12.7ah) UL certified battery.

Tires & Brakes

20×3 knobby tires, Hydraulic brakes with 180 mm brake rotors, 60mm travel on front suspension.

Sizing

Ebike weight: 63 lbs, 440 lb payload capacity, 15.7 inch standover height, rack supports 120 lbs.

Performance

Comes as Class 2, Unlockable to Class 3 speeds.(12-28mph), 5 levels of assist, claimed range of 55 miles. 750 watt (1050 peak).

Electronics

LCD display with USB Type A port, cadence sensor, IPX7 (battery), IPx6 UL 2849, UL 2271.

“Velotric has put UL certification & ISO Testing for safety as its foundation. Other brands are not UL certified or TUV certified, we are fully UL Certified and push our products to withstand 150% of the necessary ISO tests.”

What I Like

Overall value, top speed, quality of parts (even the seat is good), ergonomics, design/paint job.

What I Don’t

No battery percentage on display, front coil shock can rattle.

Buy the Fold for just $1,199.
